The Redcliffe Area Youth Space is a youth service provider and a not-for-profit community organisation.
Our organisation survives on grant funding and community donations to do the work we do.
What do we do?
We provide education and training programs, an alternative learning facility, crime prevention projects, activities, drop in, and community events to disadvantaged, at risk and marginalised young people who are between the ages of 10 and 24. We also provide outreach into the community of North Lakes as well as a series of other youth engagement services throughout the region. We're an inclusive organisation that caters to young people regardless of their cultural background, gender, socio-economic situation, religious beliefs, political affiliations or sexual orientation.
We're staffed by a team of 10 highly qualified/experienced individuals who have worked locally and across the state of Queensland. Our Manager has worked all around Australia as a Youth Worker and brings years of experience to our service. We're an award winning organisation with a reputation for innovation and consistent, quality service delivery.
ALL donations that come into the Youth Space go to program provision, equipment repairs or replacement and community based events. No donations go to staff wages or building maintenance.
If you want more detailed information on our service, you can call us on 07 3283 8769. You can also call our Manager on 07 3283 8767.
What sort of donations are you looking for?
We're not too fussy.
Money is always great, but if you're a business looking to make a donation that is not financial we're always looking for computers, software packages, office equipment and furniture.
Because we run events like our SURGE Skate, BMX and Scooter comps donations of prizes are also welcome. Prizes can include bike parts for BMX, scooter parts and skateboard parts. Popular t-shirts and caps are always well received also!
If you make a donation we'll always provide a receipt for taxation purposes, if you e-mail us what is called a "remittance advice". That can just be an e-mail with your name, address and contact number on it as well as the amount you donated.
If you're a business making a substantial donation we are also happy to promote you at our events and in the information we disseminate. Please understand that because we are a youth service there are certain donations we can't accept and certain services we can't promote. The basic rule is if you promote alcohol, any form of drug whether medicinal or recreational, or promote any item or activity that causes willful harm we'll have to politely refuse your offer.
Promotion is the purview of our Manager and his decision is final on all matters that relate to the organisation and its public image.
If you would like to donate to us, there are two ways to do it:

If you do decide to donate to the Youth Space, as we mentioned above, please send us an e-mail at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it to let us know so we can send you a receipt for taxation purposes. We'd also like to send you a thank you, because... well, donating to a youth service is huge and it should be recognised!
Our client base is predominantly young people who have encountered issues around drugs, alcohol, mental illness, violence, bullying and anti-social behaviours. A number of our young people are homeless or disadvantaged in some way and we work with both the victims and perpetrators of crime - we work to heal the victims where possible and to rehabilitate and re-engage the perpetrators so they don't reoffend. If a young person needs help, we're not going to turn them away.
Teenagers and young people today really are doing it rough, especially when they don't have a family to support them or a network of friends to help them out. They face issues of violence at levels never before seen in modern Australian history, and are exposed to a number of drugs and criminal activities. Growing up is confusing, hell, it's down right dangerous these days. Young people need all the understanding and support they can get.
It really does take a community to raise a child, and if you're able to donate something we'll be really grateful and so will our young people! You'll literally be investing in the future of Queensland.
